Exclusive Interview

Tell us about where you are from and how you got to this position today.
We are a rap group of 5 memebers from Spain: AG, Mighty Mike, Souey and Juan Durán as voices and Mindheart as music producer. We started together 3 years ago, we knew eachother from the hood and started to make songs together, all got serious when we did a song together with Maybach Music’s artist Masspike Miles “No way back”, it was kind of a smash hit in the underground scene of Spain. Our intention is to bring our stuff over to the States and Latam.

Tell us more about the current song you are promoting to everyone.
This song is a song for everybody, we felt we had to chill a bit after our last trap tape. We are singing to the music in a metaphoric way, the music is our star, our guide and everyone should have a star in his life, it can be the music, your wife or husband, a hobby, a dream…anything, it keeps you alive and ready for the fight of life. The song features one of the best r&b voices of Spain and Europe, our brother Ricky Furiati, he makes it perfect! The music video has been shot in Calpe, Spain and we hope you enjoy it:

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
The music industry in our country is totally fucked up, so as we said we are trying to export our career to America. And that is why we have been travelling many times to the States and knocking several doors in order to get contacts. That costs a lot of money for tickets, the same as producing our videos, and so. We are hustling 24/7 for being our own label, so the hardest challenge is waking up everyday and make euros in this recession, we have learnt a lot but we have a lot to walk yet.

What was one of the biggest set backs in your career and how did you bounce back?
We are 5 members with 5 lifes and none of us had an easy life, somethimes it is difficult to keep focused on your music shit with all kind of problems. Sometimes you feel you have tried everything but you have to stay positive and keep fighting, there is always a way stand up.

What are some things artists need to be careful of?
Scammers, fake managers and shit like that. When you get to another level you have to be careful also on how you handle and re-invest your incomes.

What suggestions do you have for other artists like yourself?
Focus on your fans, they are the key to your success, that’s what big labels want, and you want them because they have money. So anything to increase the fanbase is right.

What is one of your favorite ways to promote yourself and your music?
You can not focus on just one, you have to spend time talking to the fans on social networks, you have to keep good relations with blogs, radios, magazines, invest money and make as many shows as possible, you have to keep close to the crowd and the streets.
